ABOUT OUR CENTER

Fayetteville Women's Clinic has been in operation since 1979. FWC was established by Drs. William Harrison and Clifford Councille, and Dr. Harrison has practiced here continuously since then. Initially, Dr. Harrison and Councille operated FWC as a full service Ob/Gyn practice as well as providing in-clinic elective abortions. Dr. Councille left Dr. Harrison in 1986 to set up a separate practice, and Dr. Harrison stopped delivering babies at the end of 1991.

In addition to caring for the Gyn needs of thousands of girls and women since he came to Fayetteville in 1972, Dr. Harrison has provided most of the elective abortions in NW Arkansas since 1984 when he became the sole physician outside Little Rock willing to openly provide this vitally important service. We provide surgical abortions from the time pregnancy has been diagnosed and the abortion decision made to 18 weeks, and medical abortions to 9 weeks after the last menstrual period with certain restrictions.

Dr. Harrison cares for a variety of gynecological problems both in the hospital and in the clinic and he welcomes new patients into his practice. The office staff is well informed, kind, and our most important function is in ensuring that you receive the best possible care.

Dr. Harrison works all day Monday through Thursday and usually takes off Friday and the weekend. He has surgical and admitting privileges at Washington Regional Medical Center and the North Hills Outpatient SurgiCenter in Fayetteville, and at Willow Creek Women's Hospital in Johnson.

New patients requesting or referred for gynecological care are seen Monday through Thursday day by appointment. Patients seeking consultation concerning elective abortion may reach the office for an appointment every weekday Monday to Friday. In-office abortions are carried out each day when Dr. Harrison is in the office.

The Clinic is fully staffed with trained, discreet, and helpful receptionists and knowledgeable clerical personnel and nurses. Dr. Harrison is a highly respected Board Certified Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
